Ukrainian universities hit The World Rankings
For several years, Ukrainian politicians and the government have been trying to reorganize the education system to the standards of the European Union. Ukrainian eminent universities have already entered the world rankings several times. Taras Grigorovich Shevchenko National University has been ranked among the 1,000 best universities in the world for more than 5 years. Also, the National Technical University of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, is annually included in the 1,000 best universities.
This year, 4 Ukrainian universities were included in the QS World Ranking by Subjects 2021. When choosing, more than 1,440 higher education institutions from 85 countries were analyzed. This year, 2 higher educational institutions were included in this rating compared to last 2020. Ben Souter, director of the QS analytical center, noted the high quantification of technical universities in specialties related to computer science and engineering in the field of oil and gas.
The QS World Ranking by Subjects 2021 includes such universities as:
- Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko in the specialties: modern languages, linguistics, mathematics, physics, astronomy, natural sciences, computer science, and information systems and chemistry.
- Kharkiv National University named after Karazin in specialties: computer science and information systems, physics, and astronomy.
- National University Lviv Polytechnic in specialties: engineering specialties in the field of oil and gas, computer science, and information systems.
- National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, specialties: computer science and information systems.
