The Government of Ukraine has changed the rules for foreigners entering Ukraine for the period of coronavirus quarantine.
The situation in 2020 with a global pandemic made us think about changing the access regime between the Occupied Territory of Ukraine, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk regions and the unoccupied territory of Ukraine. A new procedure for leaving the occupied territory is valid from December 19, 2020. The same rules apply to foreigners and stateless persons who arrive to Ukraine from countries in which the rapid spread of COVID-19.
Foreigners or stateless persons can enter the territory of Ukraine, if they have an insurance policy that covers the entire time spent in the territory of Ukraine and full treatment for COVID-19. Such a policy must be issued by an insurance company that is registered in the territory of Ukraine or has a representative office in the territory of Ukraine, or has a partnership with Ukrainian insurance companies.
Such a policy is mandatory for all foreigners and stateless persons except:
• Those who permanently reside in the unoccupied territory of Ukraine
• Military personnel
• Representatives of diplomatic services.
If you arrived in Ukraine from a country where COVID-19 is rapidly spreading the list of such countries can be found on the website of the Ministry of Healthcare (https://moz.gov.ua/uploads/5/27851-241220.pdf) or from the Occupied Territory of Ukraine, then until you receive a negative test for COVID-19 , you must stay self-isolated. During a self-isolation, you must install the Home app. After receiving a negative test, you can stop being on self-isolation, and in case of a positive result, continue treatment.
