How to get work permit in Ukraine?
The topic we will talk about in this article is a work permit for foreign citizens in Ukraine.
What is permission needed for? According to the laws of Ukraine, you can stay on the territory of the state for 90 days for 180 days, if you want to stay longer and work here, you need grounds and additional documents that will allow you to do this. Let’s say you have found a job, but no permit has been issued.
What are the risks of working without a permit?
This threatens at least a fine for the employer, but at most deportation, a fine and a ban on entry to Ukraine for 5 years.
The employer draws up a work permit, and he also notifies the Employment Service if your employment contract has been terminated.
That is, if you want to work in Ukraine, you will have to obtain a work permit.
The permit is issued by the State Employment Service, which is valid for 6 months to 3 years. When the permit expires, you can add it for an unlimited amount of time, if you continue to work in Ukraine.
The permit can be revoked if:
- Your employment relationship was terminated, meaning you stopped working.
- False documents (fake) were submitted.
What documents do I need to submit to obtain a Work Permit?
- two color photographs measuring 3.5 x 4.5 cm;
- Passport document of a foreigner (notarized copy)
- Draft labor agreement (contract)
- Power of attorney (if the documents are submitted for you)
- Receipt for payment of application processing fee
There are also foreigners who do not need to obtain a work permit, these are:
o Foreigners who have received a residence permit in Ukraine;
o foreigners who received refugee status or received permission to immigrate to Ukraine;
o foreigners who are recognized as persons in need of complementary protection
o representatives of the foreign sea (river) fleet and airlines that serve such companies on the territory of Ukraine;
o employees of foreign media, they must be accredited to work in Ukraine;
o professional athletes, artists and artists
o workers of emergency services to perform urgent work;
o clergymen who are foreigners and are temporarily in Ukraine at the invitation of religious organizations.
o foreigners who arrived in Ukraine to participate in the implementation of international technical assistance projects;
o foreigners who arrived in Ukraine to conduct teaching and / or research activities in higher educational institutions at their invitation;
