Education in Ukrainian Universities

Education is an integral part of life, there are now more than 190 countries in the world with their educational institutions, students, and those wishing to study. In this article, I want to raise the topic of education in Ukraine, namely, what are the pros and cons of this education.

First of all, I want to tell you about Ukrainian education. Ukrainian education was created and operates by the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, the main principles that are specified in this law are humanism, democracy, national consciousness, and mutual respect.

At Ukrainian universities, you can complete both a bachelor’s degree in the specialty you are interested in and a master’s degree, and in the future, you can get a doctorate. Ukrainian universities are known all over the world for such specialties as Medicine and IT technologies, they are chosen by more than 70% of foreign students.

The most famous universities in these specialties are:

Medicine:

  • Bogomolets National Medical University;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU)

IT specialty:

  • Kiev Polytechnic Institute;

Jurisprudence:

  • Kiev National University. Taras Shevchenko;
  • National University “Odessa Law Academy”;

All of these universities are included in the top 500 universities in the world in the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2020. That is, when you graduate from a higher education institution, you will get a good start for employment.

Tuition fees at Ukrainian universities:

The price of education for foreign students in Ukraine starts at $ 3,000 per year of study, which is quite cheap for European education, as a student can move into a hostel from a university or rent his own home.

The training takes place in English / Russian / Ukrainian languages, and if you wish, you can study in a preparatory course, where you can study the language and some special subjects during the first year.

Period of study:

The average duration of study at the Bachelor’s degree is 4 years (for medical universities – 5) after which you can enter the Master’s program.

We also want to say that when studying in Ukraine, you will be able to receive a doctorate immediately after graduation, and not go to graduate school.
